Install Shieldeum on macOS
A quick guide to downloading and setting up Shieldeum VPN on your Mac.
Download and Install
- Download the macOS installer from dl.shieldeum.net
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile - Drag the Shieldeum icon into your Applications folder
- Launch Shieldeum from Applications or Spotlight
- When prompted, allow Shieldeum to add a VPN configuration (this is required for the app to work)
Granting Permissions
macOS requires you to approve the VPN configuration. When you see the "Shieldeum wants to add VPN configurations" dialog, click Allow. You may need to enter your Mac password or use Touch ID.
If you accidentally deny the permission, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > VPN and add Shieldeum manually.
Connecting
Log in with your account, then click Connect. The app will pick the fastest server automatically. You can also browse the server list and choose from 77 locations worldwide.
We recommend enabling the kill switch under Settings to prevent data leaks if the connection drops.
