App Crashes or Won't Open: Quick Fixes
If Shieldeum is crashing or refusing to open, these quick fixes usually resolve the issue.
Quick Fixes
- Restart your device: This clears temporary files and processes that might be interfering with Shieldeum.
- Update the app: Make sure you have the latest version installed from our website or your app store.
- Clear app data (mobile): On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Shieldeum > Storage > Clear Data. On iOS, uninstall and reinstall the app.
- Run as administrator (Windows): Right-click the Shieldeum shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
- Check for conflicting software: Other VPN apps, firewalls, or antivirus programs can conflict with Shieldeum. Temporarily disable them to test.
Clean Reinstall
If the quick fixes do not work:
- Uninstall Shieldeum completely
- Restart your device
- Download the latest version from our website
- Install and log in again
A clean reinstall resolves the majority of persistent crash issues.
Reporting Persistent Crashes
If the app continues to crash after a clean reinstall, contact support with your device model, operating system version, and a description of when the crash occurs (on launch, when connecting, or during use). Screenshots of any error messages are very helpful.
