1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Shieldeum Limited ("Shieldeum," "we," "us," or "our"), a company registered at Suite C, Level 7, World Trust Tower, 50 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong.

By creating an account, downloading our applications, or using any part of the Shieldeum service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description

Shieldeum provides a virtual private network (VPN) service designed to encrypt your internet traffic and route it through our server infrastructure. The service includes:

  • VPN applications for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Linux, and router configurations
  • Access to our network of VPN servers across 77 locations worldwide
  • Security features such as a kill switch, private DNS, and Threat Protection
  • Up to 10 simultaneous device connections per account
  • A help center and customer support

We may introduce, modify, or discontinue features at our discretion. Where changes materially reduce the service you have paid for, we will provide reasonable notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Shieldeum services. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete associated data.

4. Account Registration and Security

To use our service, you must create an account with a valid email address and a strong password. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Renewals

5.1 Plans

Shieldeum offers subscription plans in monthly, 1-year, and 2-year terms. Pricing, included features, and promotional discounts are displayed on our website at the time of purchase.

5.2 Payment Methods

We accept credit and debit cards, cryptocurrency, and select local payment methods. All payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full card details on our servers.

5.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. If you are on a 2-year plan, it will renew at the then-current 1-year rate. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account dashboard.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Shieldeum services to:

  • Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Distribute malware, ransomware, or any malicious software
  • Send spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited bulk communications
  • Infringe on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks connected to the service
  • Attempt to bypass security measures, rate limits, or access controls
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the service without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

7. Service Limitations and Disclaimers

While we strive to provide a reliable and fast VPN experience, certain factors are outside our control:

  • Connection speeds depend on your internet service provider, distance to VPN servers, network congestion, and device capabilities
  • Service availability may be affected by maintenance windows, infrastructure updates, or unforeseen outages
  • Some websites, services, or networks may block or restrict VPN traffic regardless of the provider
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure service at all times

We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and performance, but the service is provided on an "as available" basis.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Shieldeum website and within our applications, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and design elements, is the property of Shieldeum Limited or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services or software without our prior written consent. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Shieldeum applications for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website and applications may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content. These are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of external sites.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Privacy Policy

Your use of Shieldeum services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, as well as our zero-logs VPN policy. Please review it carefully.

11. Termination and Suspension

You may cancel your account at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting support.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if:

  • You breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Your account is used for fraudulent or illegal activity
  • You fail to pay applicable subscription fees
  • We are required to do so by law or regulation

Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as liability limitations, indemnification, and governing law) will remain in effect.

12. Warranty Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

12.1 Disclaimer

The Shieldeum service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shieldeum and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Shieldeum in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shieldeum Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service in violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
  • Any content you transmit through the service

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to the courts of Hong Kong, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email or through the service where appropriate.

Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the service and cancel your subscription.
